FAQ

  • Can any dog learn to shed hunt?

Most dogs can learn basic shed hunting. It's really about scent work and motivation. Some dogs take to it naturally, others need more work. This course shows you how to figure out what works for your dog.

  • What age should I start shed hunting training?

You can start young dogs around 4-6 months with basic scent work, though keep in mind teething puppies might be more interested in chewing antlers than finding them! Older dogs can learn too. The course covers different approaches based on your dog's age and experience.

  • Do I need hunting experience to train my dog?

Nope! This is designed for beginners. We cover the basics of scent work and finding sheds. No prior experience needed.

  • How long does it take to train a shed hunting dog?

Depends on your dog and how consistent you are. Some dogs get it quickly, others take longer. The course helps you work at your dog's pace.

  • What equipment do I need for shed hunting training?

Not much! Basic gear recommendations are covered in the course, but you can start simple. It's more about technique than equipment.
